wall that looks perfectly normal but i need to make it so i can jump through it: This is done by following these steps: *Choose a main texture(right column) *Go to the tools in the left column (Sheet Tool) -rt click and choose "Sheet Properties"----{seen below} -choose the size that fits in the space you want closed off by texture -Hii "build" *place the sheet so it fits edge to edge in the opening *go to top menu to "Brush" / AddSpecial...----{seen below} *Set it to "NonSolid" This will allow you to pass through the wall that looks like a solid wall. *Click add special ** If you would like to be able to see from one side... through like the wall is not there... and have the wall show on the otherside(to keep it hidden from rest of map)... rt click on the texture(side you want to see from), and choose "properties" Place a checkmark next to "invisible"...This will allow you to see from let's say a hidded arena...into the ffa map, though from the ffa part, it looks like a closed off (solid) wall. how to make safe zones: *place a sheet at each opening of the room you would like to be a safe zone. this you will use the same tool as above... *Brush/AddSpecial.../choose from the drop down menu"ZonePortal" *Click add special --these sheets must completely close of the room from the rest of the map! After all doorways... any openings... are closed off: *go to rt column(Classes) *In classes list: Locate "Info" / "ZoneInfo" *Place a zone info into the room you would like no kill zone....(rt click"AddZoneInfoHere") Now rt click on the "ZoneInfo" and choose "Properties" Now go to "ZoneInfo"(near bottom) Locate : bNeutralZone---Set to "True" Rebuild geometry...That is it ;D Hope this helps buddy. Let me know Pc Deliverance

For the wall, you need to use a special brush. First, select you texture like normal. Then go down to the sheet brush, and place it where you need it. (Be sure that there are no gaps between the wall. I like to overshoot a bit.) After that, hit the Add Special Brush button, and do what this thing says: Now, it usually doesnt line up with your wall correctly 1, but that's an easy fix 2: After you do that, just drag it into place. --------------------------------------------------- Now for making a neutral zone. Go to Classes on the right, go to Info, then select Zone Info, and add it where you want the neutral zone to go: Right click the ZoneInfo, and head to ...ZoneInfo. (lol) Then go to bNeutralZone and change it to true: There you go. --------------------------------------- One last thing... If you want a secret, or just want it to look better, you should align the textures. This is easy to do. Just click all the textures that you want to fit together, right click, go to Align Selected, then align as it fits (walls = Align wall direction, ceiling/floor = Align floor/ceiling), rebuild geometry, and viola:

If you would like to be able to see from one side... through like the wall is not there... and have the wall show on the otherside(to keep it hidden from rest of map)... rt click on the texture(side you want to see from), and choose "properties" Place a checkmark next to "invisible"...This will allow you to see from let's say a hidded arena...into the ffa map, though from the ffa part, it looks like a closed off (solid) wall. Wouldn't that be a 1 sided sheet? Invisible makes it totally disapear.
link=board=UnrealEditor&thread=1089765851&start=3#0 date=1089783960] Now, it usually doesnt line up with your wall correctly 1, but that's an easy fix 2: After you do that, just drag it into place.
Ewww. I hate vertex snapping, it will converge verticies if the brush is really thin and it will crash the Ed. What you SHOULD do, is right click on the grid, go to "Grid" and set the grid down a tad. Default is 16 units. 8 units is twice as many grid squares as 16, 4 is twice 8, etc. Be careful if you start working with things on a 1 grid, because the chances for bsp errors and the like goes up as the grid gets smaller. Whatever you do, try to avoid turning ed snapping totally OFF, unless you HAVE to, as i believe it turns the grid off. The grid IS your friend. EDIT: By the way, click on this button to turn vertex snapping off.

Meh. I've never had a problem with setting bEdShouldSnap to false. If I need to use the grid again to position something just right, all I have to do is turn it back on.
