uhm. okay i am following dels tortial on this.
I got the files out, and so i open them in photoshop. oh boy wheer does the funs start.
for one i dont really understand how u map out the skin. I mena - what goes where?
everything is all jumbled up - is there any map somewhere that shows where each pat of the texture flat goes? I dont understant the flats at all. and what about color pallets? does Rune/UT use them? i dont know squat about them, and if they are necesary, how do i set one up or find the default rune pallete?
the places i have seen for skinning instructions only talk about the technical stuff - like how to import/export/apply textures... not edit them. i need to know how to edit them before i can do anytihng with them.

I have been working on a step by step to see the skin right away tutorial. so u can only load 1 texture... make 1 change and see the outcome. I will dig it off of the CD-ROM I burnt it to and post a new piece to the skinning tutorial. I will try to post it tonight or tomarrow. Pc Deliverance

many a thanks del.
hope that gets put up - it'd be a great help.
so as far as what gets placed where from the flats to the model, do i just have to look at what the origional looks like on the model, and guess as to what parts (that i want to change) are the ones on teh flat?

i worked like this on my first skins:
i made screenshots from every direction of my skin to see what is where on the texture... i compaired them in photoshop and repainted then part for part... in some parts it had been a hard tryout but finally it worked.. even it took more then 3 or 4 days (8 hours each day) to get the first skin working...
but all you do in rune editor takes time
if you think you can make a skin or a complete map in 10 min you are wrong...
my smallest map took me 5 hours work and its just 1 room! on my largest map i worked more then 100 hours!!!
