This could be many reasons...
1-what operating system is on your computer(Win98/WinMe/Win2k/WinXP)
How much RAM is in your computer?
Does the editor load all the way? or stop as it is loading?

is it only in the RuneEd that your mouse freazes? It might be created by a virus running programs in ur background.
You mentioned that you have no router... Though right after that you mentioned about the "head computer ". Head computer generally means multiple computers on a network. There are other ways to do this than a router... Are you running a protocol called ICS(Internet Connection Sharing). This would allow other computers(directly connected by ethernet) to share internet access, creating a small network. Is this what you have set up?
*If running from the wall to a modem and you are not seeing the server in the list... you need to power cycle the modem. **POWERCYCLE: Unplug the "power" to the modem...leave it unplugged(powered down) for 3-5 minutes. This will allow the ISP(Internet Service Provider) to recycle the connection to your location. This should give you the full potential of the connection, allowing your server to be seen.
**Is there a firewall on the server computer? these are some of the main firewalls use at this time: *Norton *Symantec *ZoneAlarm *PC-Cillin *BlackIce
Let me know how the cables are connected and I should be able to help ya out. Pc Deliverance

*So you have a westell model 2200... *I have like 4 other user on it...4 other computers? or users on that 1 computer?
if there are 4 users on 1 computer sign in as Administrator(Name=Administrator / with ur password)
If you have 4 other computers, you probably have a router/switch/hub.
In order to move the red frame: hold "ctrl" and move the mouse while the red frame is highlited.
With the server not showing in the list... that is either a firewall software or a crappy signal from your ISP to the modem. Did you attempt to power cycle the modem(power down for 5 min)...?

The same thing used to happen to me a lot after I had minimized Rune several times. Don't know why it did that, but for some reason it stopped after I built my new computer.

Yea... true a wimpy cpu and graphix card can create issues on minimizing the editor. It is not recommended to minimize the window while in the ed. It can error a bit

Yeah... my old comp sucked. Rune was basically the only game I could play at a steady fps around 30. Battlefield 1942 was like... something around 1 frame per 8-23 seconds.
