Hey guys, in my map i have a hole in the floor with lava in it. How would i put a gate over it (not a moving gate) that you could see through the bars... when i try it shows me all this blinking gllitchy crap pc- Mike

Ok when using a see through txture(as a gate) if you make the polygon a solid or semisolid an touching the wall or floor it creats an error.
The techneque for this is actually using 2 brushes for this process.
ok if you have a hole in the floor with these sizes for ex:
EX: 64high 256bre. 256width build your brush for the bars as a "sheet" just below the ground floor(not on level of floor/just below) make it 256x256 so it fits perfectly in the whole. Now make it a"non-solid" and align the textures. Then move the "redframe up to the next gridline(level with floor) make this sheet 256x 256 also(in perfect place to close off the floor, making it flush. Add a "specialbrush"in top menubar,"Brush"...add special brush and choose "invisible colissionhull" ...(invisible&solid!)... NOTE: if you do this the sound will use the sound created on the swing hitting the texture of the invisible sheet , so use a metal texture even though it is invisible! Peace out
