Ive wanted to map for a while now, but there are some questions i need answering. they are as follows: why can i only put a player start piont inside a solid? when i go into a map that a made, i die instantly, cuz im in a soild. when i look at that solid, it shows only the inside. why? i cannot put decorations such as trees or statues anywhere, execpt in a solid. why? this solid stuff is pissing me off. easy to tell why. >why can i only put a player start piont inside a solid? the playerstart, or any other boject in the editor does not actually go inside a solid. You right click against a solid...(the walls, floor, or ceiling) placing the object there, then hold down CTRL and left mouse...the ocject will move as you move the mouse around. ;D >when i go into a map that a made, i die instantly After you build a bit on a map, and want to test it, go to the lower left of the screen to "RebuildGeometry" Click it 1 time and wait for it to rebuild the framework on your map. Then hit play level ;D i cannot put decorations such as trees or statues anywhere, execpt in a solid. why? inside a solid?... 1st thing about mapping... think of the whole black area as solid matter...like a huge stone block, waiting for you to garve a map out of it. Basically the whole map is cut out! Not solids. The whole shape of your map should all have yellow frame in the grey grids. Then all the solids are placed into that cut out area as details! I hope this helps a bit, I am not sure I understand, though I tried my best this solid stuff is pissing me off LLoooLLLL the Editor is frustrating, yet it satisfies at the same time ;D Keep it up buddy! It gets much simpler Peace Deliverance
